John F. Pilkington, Principal, Founder
John Pilkington is a leader in construction project planning, management and cost estimating. He has twenty five years of experience representing client interests on a wide variety of complex projects and has delivered hundreds of projects from concept to move-in. His work includes over 25 million square feet of development in commercial business, institutional, healthcare, biotech, retail, hospitality, and historic restoration.
Prior to founding A/E/C Solutions, Mr. Pilkington was vice president at Boston-based Shawmut Design and Construction, a specialist in sophisticated corporate, restaurant & retail, and institutional projects. Prior to Shawmut, John held senior executive positions at the international construction firm Beacon Skanska Inc. and at New York-based Structure Tone Inc.—both firms top-rated by ENR magazine for construction management expertise. Mr. Pilkington is an active member in a number of real estate industry associations, including the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Boston Society of Architects, CoreNet Global Corporate Real Estate Network, Building Owners and Managers Association, Associated General Contractors, and American Society of Professional Estimators. His advice and commentary has appeared in several industry publications, including Boston Business Journal, Banker and Tradesman, The Boston Globe and Engineering News Record.

Richard L. Simmons, Principal
Richard Simmons is a dynamic highly motivated professional with over twenty-three years of experience in the engineering, development and construction industries. He is nationally recognized for strong attention to detail, ability to achieve excellence in project quality, astute financial aptitude while managing multiple projects, and has delivered over 25 million square feet of corporate and hospitality venues throughout the US. Prior to joining A/E/C Solutions, Rich served as Operations Director for Massachusetts based Commodore Builders, and held executive positions at Shawmut Design and Construction, a nationally top ranked ENR construction management firm known for complex restaurant and retail projects. Mr. Simmons also has an extensive design, engineering and real estate development background with the firms Vannasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. and Sumner Schein Architects and Engineers, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI.
